Lesson objectives
- Finalise your own applications (classifiers)
- Plan how to present your own application (classifier) to others
- Support students’ creative skills, participation and agency in collaborative project work
- Deepen your understanding of key concepts and methods in machine learning
Key concepts
- Educational data, curation, classifier, class, certainty, fragility, feed
Accessories:
- Computer/tablet per group
- Computer application to be taught: https://tm.generation-ai-stn.fi
- The Design and Development task is a continuation of the task block started in the previous lesson
- Evaluation and presentation of your own application(printable pdf and editable word doc)
How to work:
- Small group or pair work
Task: complete the classifier application
Working method: work in small groups or pairs
- Note! You have remembered to define the functions for your classifier! In other words, how the classifier reacts when he/she observes what is being taught (e.g. an animal classifier observes a cat). Can you see the picture? can you hear the sound?
Exercise: think about evaluating your own application and how to present it to others
For this task, follow the instructions in the “Evaluate and present your application” task sheet:
- Name the application
- Tell us what problem the application solves
- Open the app’s tutorial process as instructed
- Consider the harms and benefits
- Think about what knowledge and skills you will learn during your work
